The state of Sikkim is divided into 2 parts; North Sikkim and South Sikkim. The capital of Sikkim is Gangtok which is located in south of Sikkim. The region of Yumthang ,Yumesamdong,Gurudongmar and Chopta Valley lies in North Sikkim which is accessible for tourists. North Sikkim has the military presence because of the international boundary with Tibet. Therefore, the tourists can only visit with a guided tour and must arrange a travel permit.

Sikkim has international boundaries with Tibet on the North and the East. Nepal is located on the west and the state of West Bengal is located in the south which is the only way to connect to the rest of India. Gurudongmar Lake is the major tourist destination in Sikkim.

Tripura is located in the east of Bangladesh and in far east of India. It is one of India’s seven sister states and it is fact that in days of yore the boundaries of Tripura was extended up to the Bay of Bengal when its rulers held sway from Garo hills to Arakan.

Tripura’s population comprise of  Bengalis. However, the tribes known as “Tripuri” are the original inhabitants of the state. There are many festivals celebrated all throughout the year but some of the important festivals of the state are Kharchi Puja, Ker & Garia Puja and Ganga Puja. Meghalaya is also known as the abode of the clouds and is one of the most beautiful states of the country. Meghalaya is situated between the Brahmaputra valley in the north and Bangladesh in the south. and is a very small state in the North East of India. It has borders with the state of Assam and the famous river of Brahmaputra flows from the North and the west.

Meghalya is covered up with the Hills known as  Garo, Khasi and Jaintia hills. White clouds hanging on mountain tops are very common to see and it enthralls tourists the most. Climate

India has huge geography and it is wildly, climatic conditions are only bound to vary wildly too.A lot of people who live outside India think that India is a Hot Country and that holds true for most of but not all of India. But there are  some other states in North India such as Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir in the north and Sikkim in the northeastern hills. These states just dont have any hot climate anytime during the year.
It is true that most of India remains hot. It begins in April and continues till the beginning of October. The heat  is at its peak in June with temperatures in north India  and the west soaring above 40° C. The Monsoons hit India sometime during the late June or July which helps to cool the temperature . More Rainfall sweeps the country bringing relief to a parched northern India but sometimes devastation in the east where the rivers Brahmaputra and Ganga flood annually.

January

1) States of Tamil Nadu, Karnatka and  Andhra Pradesh celebrate Pongal [Harvest] festival for 3 days.
2) During the Mid January, in the West Indian City of  Ahmedabad [Gujrat] Kite Festival is celebrated for a 1 day.
3) While in Mid January in South India, Trivandrum & Thrissur [Kerala] Elephant march is conducted for a day.
4) Official National Holiday in January : New Delhi, Republic day  Parade and festival for a day on 26th January.

January/February:

1)A big festival known as  Kumbah Mela happens in Allahabad in the state of Uttar Pradesh . It is know as the ‘Greatest Religious  Event on Earth.’ Millions of pilgrims and crazed sadhus swim and perform miracles.
2) January/February: Float Festival happens in Madurai  in the state of Tamil Nadu for a  1 day.
